His birth name is Apostolos Lazopoulos (Greek: ????????? ??????????), Lakis being a diminutive.

In 1997, he was in charge of adapting the animated film Hercules in Greek and also did the voice acting for Phil and Panic. Lakis was awarded by Roy E. Disney for the best adaption in all Europe[2]. In 2000, he wrote and starred in the film Fovou tous Ellines.

Since 1979, he has written and played in numerous vaudevilles, films and TV shows and is still active today in Alpha TV with the show Al Tsantiri News.

Lazopoulos played Nicolos, one of the lead roles, in the 2007 film El Greco[
